Sutton Music Service Young Musician of the Year 2012
In 2012, Sutton Music Service is launching a new competition to find our Young Musician of the Year. The competition will be open to advanced level musicians (Grade 6 ability or higher) that currently play the instrument on which they are competing in one of our bands or orchestras. Applicants must be aged 18 or under on 31 August 2012 and may only apply on one instrument. p>
Auditions will take place early in the spring term in which you will be expected to perform a piece that you are currently working on, without accompaniment. From these auditions, five finalists will be chosen to perform in the final at All Saints Church, Carshalton on Tuesday, 27 March to a panel of high profile guest adjudicators and an audience of friends, relatives and supporters. The winner will receive a trophy and the title Sutton Music Service Young Musician of the Year 2012. p>
We would like to encourage as many young musicians as possible to apply for this opportunity. Remember that just auditioning will be a beneficial learning experience and will give you a goal to work towards. We will be in a position to give more details about when exactly the auditions will take place when we have a better idea of how many young musicians are interested in taking part. p>
If you would like to audition to be Sutton Music Service Young Musician of the Year 2012, please click here for an application form and return this with the entry fee of £10 (all cheques should be made payable to SYMSA) by Friday, 13 January 2012. p>
